Inner fields

A series of public gatherings created in artist Elaine Su-Hui’s Brooklyn apartment in 2015, it grew into a transnational, grassroots collective of BIPOC artists, community organizers, and educators. Built upon principles of matriarchal gift economy, transformative leadership, and spiritual friendship (sangha), our social practice project explored the intersection of Dharma, radical ecology, and artistic practice hosting public programs aimed at breaking down hierarchical, commodity-based forms of interaction, and build genuine relationships steeped in ecological wisdom.

Our collective ran from 2021-2024 with each of our members going on to facilitate programming in their home cities of New York, Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Sydney, Australia.
